Chinese deep fried oysters

I really would rather go nowhere other than Chinatown,however, if there is something exceptional out there I can be persuaded,like delicious foods,for example, the :Chinese deep-fried oysters.It is One of the best recipes I’ve ever eaten on Chinese New Year. This recipe comes from a Cantonese chef friend of mine and it will surely slap your momma good.Then,why don’t you have a try?Let’s cook the deep fried oysters ourselves

Ingredients for deep fried oysters :

25 medium Oysters  1 teaspoon Salt(or to taste);
2 teaspoons Fresh root ginger, finely chopped;
1 Spring onions (scallions), finely chopped;
1/2 tablespoons Vegetable oil for deep-frying
Pepper to taste;

Batter
1 Egg;
5 tablespoons Plain flour;
1 tablespoon Cornflour;
5 tablespoons Water;
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder;

Method to cook Chinese deep fried oysters:


1,Shell and drain the oysters.

2,Sprinkle with salt, pepper and ginger.

3,Combine the ingredients for the batter until smooth.

4,Heat the oil in a wok or deep-fryer.

5,When very hot, dip the oysters individually into the batter.

6,Fry in bathes for 3 minutes until golden brown.

7,Drain.

8,Transfer to a heated serving dish and sprinkle with onion.

9,Serve and enjoy.

Obviously there is some kind of symbolism for eating oysters at New Year: for example,fish is for prosperity and Dumplings mean wealth.So I assume that oysters are somehow in there as well.However,for me they are just delicious,No other meaning.
